The beginning of a relationship with God is through prayer. Yahsah Messiah, when he was on earth, spoke to his disciples about a prayer. To this day that prayer is known as the Lord’s Prayer.

“Heavenly Father, let your name be sanctified, let your kingdom come, let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread and forgive us of our sins as we forgive those who sins against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the wicked one. For yours is the kingdom the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen”.

Matthew 6:9-13

The Lord’s prayer does not seem to be a relationship building prayer with God, but somewhat of a prayer which is necessary for us to do in the beginning stages of our believing in God. So, let us look at the Lord’s Prayer a bit more closely.

HEAVENLY FATHER, who is called YaHWaH. there is only one heavenly father, the father over all living souls.

There is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him…. 1 Corinthians 8:6

LET YOUR NAME BE SANCTIFIED. Now the Father is Holy, his name does not need to be sanctified. The sanctification of his name is by means of us who calls upon his name, and the way we live our live. We must be calling upon the Father name with true hearts, true minds, true spirit. We must strive to live godly lives that will not allow us to use his name in vain, blaspheme or slander his name.

‘LET YOUR KINGDOM COME’ The Father’s Kingdom is coming upon this earth, as Yahsah Messiah will be the reigning king, there will be no end to his kingdom. It will put an end to all kingdoms on the earth and all governments. God’s Kingdom will be a kingdom judging righteously.

“And in the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be brought to ruin. And the kingdom itself will not be passed on to any other people. It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite…. Daniel 2:44

LET YOUR WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN. We know that his will in heaven is already done. The Dragon who is Satan and all the disobedient angels who followed him have been thrown out of heaven to the earth. Now God’s will is to be done on earth, to transform the earth, to cleanse the earth of all wickedness and allowing the earth to be under the power of his Son. All the righteous will take possession of the earth and they will dwell upon it forever.

And war broke our in heaven; Michael and his Angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its Angels battled, but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth and his Angels were hurled down with him. Revelation 12:7-12

GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD. This daily bread is food, it is not the physical food for our body’s sustenance, but it is the spiritual food for our spiritual growth. It is the food that keeps us on the right track, the food that helps us to do what is right in God’s eyes. God’s word is the food of life.

Work not for the food that perishes, but for the food that remains for life everlasting, which the Son of man will give you;… John 6:27

FORGIVE US OF OUR SINS. It is self-explanatory, it is simply about any sins that we have committed, we are asking God in our heart for forgiveness of such sins. When it is with your heart that you are asking, it gives the understanding that you no longer wish to continue in sin but to really to desist from sins. Let me just remind you, we must be conscious of our sins so that we know the reason why we are asking for forgiveness of our sins.

Mistakes – who can discern? From concealed sins pronounce me innocent. Psalms 19:12

AS WE FORGIVE THOSE WHO SINS AGAINST US. Now, you may not know it yet, but after you read the following you will come to know. Here is something to think about. Do we expect the forgiveness of our sins from our heavenly Father when we are not willing to forgive others of their sins against us?  Here we are, asking for the forgiveness of our wrongs against God and maybe against others; so, let us find in our hearts to be able to forgive those who wrong us.

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: whereas if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Matthew 6:14-15

LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION. Understand that we are not alone upon this earth, remember the devil and his angels are upon this earth. So, it is only by the power of God along with your desire not to fall into temptation, that God can help you to overcome any temptations that may present itself to you.

No temptation has taken you except what is common to men. But God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation He will also make the way out in order for you to be able to endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

DELIVER US FROM THE WICKED ONE. The wicked one roams about on the earth with wicked spirits and demons seeking who to devourer. As you are drawing closer to God but not fully there yet. There will still be darkness in you which you will want to get rid of. So, in reality, we are asking God to deliver us from the wicked one because we do not want to fall under his power, under his deception, because his motive is to destroy you. There is no reasoning or talking to him so that he may have a change of mind, his mission is Cristal Clear! Seek and destroy!

Keep your senses, be watchful, your adversary, the Devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour someone. 1 Peter 5:8

FOR YOURS IS THE KINGDOM THE POWER AND THE GLORY FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN. Once you start to know more about YHWH God you will recognise YHWH God is sovereign ruler over all. He has no beginning nor ending, and so it is better to seek for the Kingdom of God and to live in the kingdom forever and ever, than in Gehenna. The kingdom is already established in heaven, and it will be so on earth. Amen, which simply means: “So it shall be”.

REVELATION 21:1-5

Well, that sums up the Lord’s prayer, which I might add, gives a little understanding of the prayer, and helps you to know how important it is to pray the Lord’s prayer or using it as a foundational prayer. There are other prayers that we pray to God in a more personal way, but always remember that any prayer that you pray according to God’s will, it will be Amen, because it fits in line with the will of God.

No matter what it is that we ask according to his will, he hears us. Further, if we know he hears us respecting whatever we are asking, we know we are to have the things asked since we have asked them of him. 1 John 5:14-15

So, when you pray for your salvation or pray for guidance, when you pray for forgiveness, or to draw close to God, when you pray for your family or to love your neighbours etc; it all comes under the will of God. He wants you and your family to be safe and saved. He wants you to come into his glory, into his Kingdom and live there forever and ever with him and his son.

As the apostle Paul rightly said, that we should pray for all things and not to cease in prayer. The facts concerning pray is like this; the closer you draw to the Father in heaven (which really means having a beautiful relationship with him even his Son) the more likely your prayer is going to be answered. Now that doesn’t mean to say that if you pray to God for the forgiveness of sin he’s not going to forgive you because you don’t yet have a close relationship with him. Your prayers are heard and even answered on account of it being heartfelt. You want your sins to be forgiven, you want a new start in life. He’s going to hear you, he’s going to answer you,  he is going to do it! What you do in relation to that is to make sure you do not practice sin. Therefore, the Lord’s Prayer is what you would pray because it states within it the forgiveness of your sins. We prayer when we feel we are under tribulations, afflictions and temptations, also, when we are being persecuted; we can pray to God concerning these things. When we come across the enemy trying to destroy us by whatever means, through our livelihood, by lies and by deception, by other around us, we pray to God to help us and protect us. “

The name of YHWH is a strong tower. Into it the righteous runs and are given protection”. Proverbs 18:10

The apostle Paul also said, ‘pray for all things, make your supplications be known to God’. Yahsah Messiah said that your Father in the heavens know what you are needing. He knows that you need to be clothed and to be fed. So, it is necessary to pray with wisdom and understanding. Now if you are applying the word of God in your life; the word of God will only make you a better person. It is like looking at your face in a mirror, (not looking in the mirror to seeing how good you look. Lol,) but looking in the mirror to see who you are or what kind of person you are for that matter. You cannot do this with a natural mirror that you use in your hallway or in your bathroom/bedroom. When you look at yourself, instead of just looking at yourself to see how well you look, rather look and think to yourselves what kind of person you are. Instead of looking with your eyes you look through your eyes (the windows of our souls) but how are we really going to know the kind of person we are unless we look into the ‘perfect mirror’? The perfect mirror comes in the way of God’s word, it shows us what kind of person we are because of what we might not be doing or what we might be doing that we should not be doing. In one part of the Bible there is a verse which states:

“You must Love YHWH your God with all your heart, soul and mind, and love your neighbours as you love yourself”.           Matthew 22:37-38

Now, if we are not doing right, the perfect mirror will show that in us. If we find it difficult to love our neighbours, we can pray about it. ‘O God, show me how to love, show me how to be like your Son, Yahsah Messiah’. Always remember when we are reading the word, we are basically gaining knowledge about God and his Son, this is what leads us to everlasting life.

Praying is essential, because without prayer nothing gets done not even God’s will. God’s will on the earth is done by prayer, but the prayer must be by means of faithful ones. As it is written, the prayer of the righteous one avails much, and again it states, concerning those chosen those righteous, before they have prayed our heavenly Father has already heard. The Lord’s Prayer is a guide which helps you to know what to pray to your heavenly Father. Our heavenly Father could put us in whatever situation he wants to in our life which will no doubt cause us to pray to him.

Show us just how to count our days in such a way that we may bring a heart of wisdom in. Psalms 90:12

It is important to know, according to where you are in your relationship with your heavenly Father, it will determine how you prayer and what you are praying for. There is this certain understanding concerning prayer, for instance, if you are praying to ask God on behalf of somebody for their forgiveness of sin, but you are still wilfully sinning, how can that prayer really be taken seriously by God. I think one need to desist from wilful sins before one can even pay for somebody else to be forgiven of their sins.

Why, then, do you look at the straw in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the rafter in your own eye?  Matthew 7:3

Throughout the holy scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation you will come across prayers from the prophets, writers of scriptures, apostles, and disciples even from the Lord himself. One of the prayers that Yahsah prayed while he was in the garden of gethsemane, was at a time of great trouble and suffering that he was going through. He knew the time for his crucifixion was at hand. He prayed to his Father in the heavens about the tribulation he was soon to suffer, asking for it to pass over him. Now, understand what he prayed; he is asking the Father to let what he is to go through pass over him not as he wills but as YHWH wills. This indicate that the Messiah does not want to go through this but was willing to except whatever his Father’s will was concerning him. Messiah knows that his Father is Righteous and execute justice to success. When our heart is in the Fathers hand, we do not need to worry even up to death. Because by the power of YHWH we can carry out his will. Remember the outcome is a future of everlasting life in beautiful conditions. There is only success, there is only victory with YHWH God our Holy Father.

In your heart be wise and understanding, you are approaching the Sovereign Lord YHWH by means of Yahsah Messiah when you make prayer to him. Yahsah Messiah intercedes for us while we wait for his return upon this earth once for all time. You will begin to see that prayer is not only when thing go wrong or if we find ourselves in some serious problems. We may pray to God giving thanks to him for all that he does in our favour. You will have a beautiful relationship with YHWH and his Son, you will know how much they love you even before you became believers. It is because of his love that you became believers!

YOUR PRAYER TO ALMIGHTY YHWH

Heavenly father, hear my prayer and forgive me of my sins that I may have committed in thoughts, words, and deeds.
You have given to me chance to put my life right with you by sending your Son Yahsah Messiah as a sacrifice for me.
Help me to honour the death and the resurrection of your Son by doing what is good in your eyes and not to practice any sins.
You raised your Son up from the dead to show me there is life after death if I exercise faith in him.
Help me come to know you and love you.
Salvation for everlasting life is in your hand for me heavenly Father.  Amen.
